Dovetail Base
(White color) The dovetail base
is composed of hard alloy aluminum. The Ways are traditional 60
degree opposing V-type. The Dovetail Base starts out as an extrusion
that is subsequently machined to a high degree of straightness and
parallelism. Cosmetic anodizing, hard-coat anodizing, and hard-nickel
plating are offered to meet the different customer requirements
for appearance, cleanliness, and long life. More
Slider (Yellow color) The Slider is the
moving element or carriage. Like the Base it is made of hard alloy
aluminum machined to close tolerances. Lead Screw This is a threaded
drive screw of the highest accuracy obtainable by the thread rolling
process. Velmex uses 303 series stainless steel or electro less
nickel plated carbon steel for the lead screw material.
Bearing Block (Purple color) The Bearing
Block contains a pair of bearings preloaded to constrain the Lead
Screw axially and radially. More
Rulon PTFE Bearing Pads These
are the linear bearings that minimize sliding friction as low as
0.06 coefficient of friction. The pads are 0.020" thick and are
permanently bonded to the Slider at four locations. The gib adjustment
provides the user a means to adjust preload force and compensate for pad
wear.

Lead Screw Nut (Orange color) This is
the connection between the Lead
Screw and the Slider. The nut is made of Delrin or Delrin
AF providing low friction, and minimal backlash. Photo
Knob/Crank (Blue color) Manual UniSlide
models come standard with either the Knob/Crank combination or a
Rogan Knob. More
Adapters for Multi-axis Configurations There are several
standard adapter
plates and brackets available to connect UniSlides in
XY, XZ, XYZ, or with a Rotary axis. More
