Changing a Manual Slide to Motorized

If you plan to purchase a manual UniSlide stage and motorize it in the future, here are some requirements to consider.

-Size of the motor flange and shaft dia.
-Providing for protection from over travel using limit switches
-The best lead screw pitch for your requirements

BiSlide Assemblies

BiSlides are the easiest to convert. Simply remove the knob and counter (if present) and mount the motor.

Limit switches are easily added in the field when making the conversion. Or, like above, purchase a double shaft motor and add a manual knob. Spec a BiSlide.

XSlide Assemblies
	Photo 3: The manual XSlide is not convertible to motor drive. The best approach is to purchase the standard motorized XSlide with a dual shaft motor. Then attach a standard knob with crank to the motor shaft extension. It can then operate as a manual stage until you are ready for motorization.
