Traveling Slider Lock TSL |

Thumbscrew-on-Lead Screw Lock This is
the most common lock. It uses a simple thumb screw against the
lead screw. Note: the end bearing block is usually longer than the standard
end bearing block. See table below.
|
This lock type is not useful
for Rapid Advance Style UniSlides because the slider can still move. I want to use this lock with a Scale
and Vernier Model.

Slider Lock What you see: a thumbscrew located at the midpoint of the base length.
What you can't see: a 90° step milled into the side of the slider,
the length of the slider. This gives a perpendicular surface for the screw to bear on and a positive lock. A single lock
works if slider length, S, is equal to or greater than ½ the base
length L. |
However, if your base is longer you'll need multiple locks spaced along the base.
To order lock on the right side, append “-SLR” to the model number.
For a lock on the left side, add “-SLL”. See drawing below to identify
right and left sides. What is
the cost? |

Traveling Slider Lock This locking plate
attaches to the slider; the thumb screw presses against the outside
edge of the base. It can be mounted on either side of the base.
|

3/16" Series A15, 1/4" Series A25 and 3/8" Series A40,

Locks

On models with a scale and vernier,
the vernier is offset to the right to avoid being obscured by the
payload. When adding a thumb lock to these models, we cut away the
vernier plate (shown in pink) to avoid hitting the thumbscrew lock.
