| Models GE (English micrometer) and
GM (Metric micrometer)

Photo 1
This type of UniSlide has a micrometer
to measure travel to 0.001 inch or 0.01 mm. These models combine
the Rapid
Advance mechanism with a micrometer. The slider can be
quickly positioned anywhere within the dovetail base. They are ideal
for gauging position or travel when the zero reference point
or home position must be movable. The micrometer range
is 1 inch or 25 mm.
Base length can be up to 30".
Feature Summary:
-micrometer drive operation,
-quick repositioning
-movable zero reference point
GE model (reads inches) and GM
(read mm) are available in three Series (sizes): A15,
A25
and A40. To learn more, go to the Series of your choice.
"Nice, but I need greater resolution than 0.001" or 10 microns."
Graduated Knob UniSlides

Another type UniSlide with the same
resolution is the Graduated Knob UniSlide.
They use a scale, graduated knob and accurate lead screw. Unlike
the micrometer type above, this type can have a much longer travel
distance, to 1 meter or more. Also, unlike the micrometer style,
zero or home is fixed at one end of the slide. And, Graduated Knob
UniSlides are available in all Series. Choose
a Series. If you know your Series, you can Spec
It for price and photo. Tell me more about Graduated
Knob models.
Graduated Knob Model Summary:
-micrometer-like drive operation
-more compact design
-more choices in length, widths,
and screw pitch
-fixed zero reference point
